First Things First: Let It Rest

We know — it smells amazing and you want to brew it right now.
But trust us on this one: fresh-roasted coffee needs a little time to chill.

Your beans release natural gases (mostly CO₂) after roasting. Brewing too soon can lead to a cup that’s flat, sour, or just a bit... off.

The sweet spot?
Let your coffee rest anywhere from 3–14 days post-roast for peak flavor.
(We include the roast date on every bag so you’ll know when it’s go-time.)



Now That You’re Ready to Brew

Here are our top tips to make the most of every bean:


1. Use Fresh, Filtered Water

98% of your cup is water. If your tap water tastes weird, your coffee will too.


2. Grind Matters

Match your grind to your brew method:

  • Coarse for French Press

  • Medium for Drip

  • Fine for Espresso

Grind too fine for pour-over? Overextracted and bitter. Too coarse for espresso? Weak and sad.


3. Weigh It Out

Use a scale if you can. Start with a 1:16 ratio — 1g coffee to 16g water.
Adjust to your taste buds.


4. Mind the Temp

Shoot for 195–205°F.

  • Too hot = bitter.

  • Too cool = underwhelming.

  • Just right = 😍


5. Store It Right

Keep beans in an airtight container in a cool, dry spot.
Skip the fridge or freezer — they’ll mess with your flavor and aroma.
